My hair grew long, unkempt and somewhat knotted.
I smelt pungently… fresh.
I,.. Shiro… did not notice nor care.
I… also felt good.
The Cave that was my then HOME,..
had no mirror and i studiously avoided
looking into the watery reflection when
at the Lake/Large Pond…
where i quenched.
Au Natural indeed.
AND TRAIN WITH NATURE.
Thus Our World LEGENDS of yore oft hinted
with Tales of Heroes and Heroines
battling through Mountains, Desert or Plains.
Nature was all around and keenly felt
and widely written about as background
to such usually encouraging Moral
Messages and Inspiration (click).
For those that studied the MARTIAL WAYS too…
outside… was more natural.
I felt good… inside… tho’ looked bad… outside.?.
A Shaman Student… dreaming indeed (click).
Such a retreat more common-place in ages past,..
twas now though… i had the Time.
My career in the Security Field, my Motor-cycling,..
my Training too.
ALL… on pause (click).
Two moderately traumatic Bike v Car
accidents within a short time…
before healing the first had passed.
My Fault, My choice.
I chose to ride again.
After;.. My Work and Training were not even possible…
for many years.
I… told none concerned and simply
My Fault, My choice, My ride.
My time to Heal.
Now,.. i felt good.
Outside i was…
…well… inside a Cave really.
Over time wounds slowly healed.
My personal Training was lots of Trail
Walking, a lil’ Mount Climbing.
In the morns i stretched using SAN SHIN
and KIHON HAPPO (to do…click-avail soon)
as the base for some slow
Tai-chi like actions…
i came to Term these…
Sunlight, Moonlight, Fresh Air + Water + Food (click).
In the day, Greens and Browns colored my World
with a lid of Sky-Blue and Our Sun beaming (click).
When night, the inky Purple-Blues hue
lit the way… ‘cept when Moon was aglow.
OUR SUN,.. with a nod to the ANCIENT EGYPTIAN
ANCESTORS… was named… RA…
(…WHICH ALSO HAPPENS TO BE…
Shiro’s Birth initials…= Roberti Amodeo…a Male…
so too the Sun…click);
…whilst the MOON,..
with a nod to the OLDEN
GREEK ANCESTORS… became named (click),..
…the wondrously elusive… and oft cloaked,..
From Training in Japan, Adelaide and
with the Tenets/Concepts of NINPO,..
ensured the night was known.
My first two forays with the Shinobi
of the Bujinkan in Japan
into the night to train,..
are typical of Nature AND Moonlight
adaptations and uses within Martial
Traditions that still honor this aspect.
(…though not sure how the
” The Community ” per se would have felt.!?…)
…From the Dojo proper we were gathered
and told to keep SILENT AS CAN…
and led to… GREENERY.?.
Both sites were close though
i had not seen or noticed them
on my way to the Dojo…
we walked a lil’… then,..
they were there… wherever that was really.
The first was a Golf Course or Park Corner type area…
with many terrain mounds ups n downs etc…
which we made use of etc. Shadow
Work/Walking WAYS emphasised. By
that i mean we had to keep and stay
silently within Nature’s Shadows…E.G.,..
NOT MAKE OUR OWN…
whilst moving to where indicated.
Tis tricky at times.
Worked also on spotting others…
trying to do same Shadow concealing. At
night,.. after your eyes adjust
(…= app.27mins for MALE/NINJA…
= app.18 MINS for MALE/NINJA
with long hair and approx. 9 mins
So the LEGENDS say.
Silent Walking was the Training Concept
and Eye adjustment helped much in
avoiding things that go crackle and snap…
and pop too (click).
The session ended with muted as possible…
Unarmed surprise take-downs + Weapon
steals v Stick wielding Opponent…
on uneven lil’ slippery and rocky ground.
At night’s end… The Moon Light revealed,..
several bruises on the way.
I felt good.
The second Greenery…
was easier to figure out.
Tabi’s… soaked. First step. Squelching
every step, then on.
At least noise not an issue.
Long sweeping movements…
with room to move here.
Sensei’s picked a good spot…
away from the Main sown crops to
where a pool had gathered still
and only sparsely covered
with the young rice plants.
A 2-3 inch deep mini-Lake/Pond area.
Tabi’s soaked. First step.
The Spear though, helped release pent
up inner energies too. Required some
oomph and focus. Moderately heavy
weapon made more complex
by the moving and sinking ground under…
which required constant/auto Body
positional adjustments for targeting
offensive and/or defensive.
The Water eventually too
made the clothes heavier and damp…
though an upside here…
you could easy flick water too
as a distraction or defense. Movements
overall though were hindered
immediately per se. Feet heavy
with wet… real soon etc. ALL
Placement was oft critical… as
the muddy underground meant
some slippery sliding too per se.
This slippery sliding too had
to be accounted for with hand-grip
soon enough as well,..
requiring a mode of auto adjust essential.
Such uses of NATURE all but
impossible within a Dojo proper…
(…Swimming pool perhaps.?.).
I mean we had open spaces, sky, clouds,
stars, wind, water… LIFE.
A big pointy Stick… too.
A SOKE… who says ” …Go… Play…” … (click);..
so we did.
Tired yet refreshed, thirsty yet sated, drunk
on Nature… and dirty Rice Water.!.
we gazed at Stars and swapped Stories,
mostly of Family and Home.
And… One about Dogs
and their Water Love and Play.
I felt good indeed.
Get back or stay,..
…outside… Train with Nature.
Connect and exchange stale energies for fresh.
FEEL… the Rain, the Wind, the Dirt. Just feel.
Live a Life… worth Dreaming of.
Live your Dreams… whenever you may.
Our World Legends.
I… Dream of Ninja.
Do YOU have a Dream.?.
… I oft too,.. go… BACK.
