The MOON has a GRAVITY approx. 1/6 of OUR EARTH… approx: 17 %.

So the LEGENDS of SCIENCE say (click).

 

This DATA/INTEL/INFO… was discussed quite some time ago.

In general terms:

Each Planet/Space object has certain parameters of MASS, SPEED, POSITION and so forth.

Such from other SCIENCES as The INVERSE SQUARE LAW (EQUATION)… is one that can then be applied and used to determine the extent or zone or range… of each Planet/object’s  GRAVITATIONAL FIELD STRENGTH and so on.

 

 

This in turn SUPPLIES ESSENTIAL AND CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE FOR SPACE TRAVELLERS.

One must know where each Planet’s GRAVITY influence extends to and so forth. This info is ESSENTIAL to plotting a trajectory nearby or into the orbit of the said Planet and thus onto the Planet itself.

 

This zone/area where, for example the MOONs and EARTHs ” meet “,.. is one where the GRAVITY influence of neither dominates.

A ” neutral zone ” per se.

 

ESSENTIAL, CRITICAL. NECESSARY. REQUIRED etc etc.

 

The MOONs Gravity Field/Strength of 1/6 Earths,..

…thus means it’s GRAVITATIONAL Influence extends to about 20-25,000 miles according to the calculations of SIR ISAAC NEWTON and the INVERSE SQUARE LAW  Equation mentioned above (click).
