NIKOLA TESLA BIO/OVERVIEW…

 

  • In 1931, the Inventor, then 75 years of age, appeared on the cover of TIME MAGAZINE.

 

  • N.TESLA received Letters of Congratulations from more than 70 Pioneers of SCIENCE including such as Albert Einstein.

 

  •  NIKOLA TESLA died JAN. 7th, 1943 in the Hotel New Yorker.

A STATE FUNERAL was held at St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York City. Condolence Telegrams were sent by many of High Society per se…including the then current First lady Eleanor Roosevelt and Vice President Wallace.

More than 2000 people attended this occasion from many walks of Life…Engineering, Politics and Science including several Nobel Laureates.

  • The NIKOLA TESLA AWARD is one of the distinguished honors chosen for use during presentations by the INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS. This Award has been annual since 1976.

 

  • The United States Postal Service issued a Commemorative Stamp in 1983.

 

  • The NIKOLA TESLA STATUE, located on Goat Island provides a Memorial for this great Scientist.

 

  • The NIKOLA TESLA Corner Sign, located on the intersections of 40th Street and 6th Avenue in Manhattan, is also an  ever-present Local reminder for all New Yorkers and visitors alike.
