We found this out several days ago.

He is some 11 yrs of age (click).

 

The Cancer has developed in his KIDNEYS and is described by OUR VET;

as “… rampant… ” at the moment (click)…4/10/17.

There was little in the air at first, that told

of the impending change in weather. This day,

thus far, was clear and mild.

 

The country path-ways and surrounds to

the nearby GOTOKU-JI TEMPLE were

green and busy, each to their appointed

tasks and chores it seemed (click).

 

The WARRIOR though, stopped still

in his tracks and adjusted his collar.

 

A sharp wind had chilled the neck.

Something,.. somewhere felt off.

 

 

Like a distant enemy who approaches.

Then, even that fleeting fancy,.. also fled.

 

Putting faith in his senses, the WARRIOR told himself…

 

what it was he had felt- ’twas no danger-

just keep alert… storms maybe in the air

ahead indeed.

 

A matter of some urgency called for him to go far

and long this day.

He looked around, slowly,..

as if surveying the landscape and trying to impress

the images inwardly. The JAPANESE Countryside

is oft an awesome NATURE display. Greenery abounds,

 

with lines of silver shimmer as the light reflects

off watery streams and ravines

as they wind down the Mountain-side.

 

This WARRIOR had much to be thankful for,

as this Land had also now,..

become his to protect.

 

Now,..

A Feudal Lord of EDO JAPAN (click) was

his WAY it seems.

The skies though,..

seemed to darken and tremble afore his eyes

nonetheless.

 

 

 

 

Moving on now, a lil more hurriedly,..

as the well-trodden path slowly curved and turned

to reveal a large gateway ahead in the distance.

Already on his planned route,.. thus no turning back…

fortune and luck indeed. Shelter and sanctuary too.

Timely shelter,..

 

and with the company of renowned

Buddhist Priests (click) to boot.

 

 

This Lord and WARRIOR had studied well and long,

as had many of his ilk.

Knew and respected the learning skills ( + other..)

and loved too the sharing of knowledge amongst

such scholars and soldiers that these Priests

were and had been.

 

Renowned and regaled were their Libraries, their Gardens

and the added sublime taste and joy

of Mountain born TEA.

 

 

 

The wind had indeed changed;

stronger,

both cooler and wetter too.

 

As the first large rain-drops splattered

onto path,..

both collar and more..

 

of this WARRIOR and Lord true.

 

 

 

 

The sky clouds burst,.. seemingly and maybe

matter of factly, right above his head, as

the TEMPLE GATES loomed larger in his sight.

Ahead, the TEMPLE darkened,..

 

now misted and nestled in his sight

as he head-tilted to angle rain sluices away. The

sound of the storm had deepened too now,

vibrating menacingly in the skies above.

 

This storm was setting indeed.

The path,.. his path,

quickly turning moist, wet slippery treacherous

ground squelching underfoot.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 THAT CAT…

 JUST WAVED,.. TO ME.?.

Though already soaked and desperately

seeking susan shelter… (click)

 

the WARRIOR stopped again, a dozen

steps from the Gate.

 

As not so long before… he-

stopped still- and watched.

 

 

The TEMPLE CAT,.. HAD WAVED.?.

TO HIM.!?.

 

WAVED HIS WAY INDEED.

 

 

The WARRIOR smiled and nodded as he looked

at the TEMPLE CAT THAT WAVES.

 

Remembering his earlier thoughts,..

and as if in a trance he stepped forward

surely and knowingly;

 

as if DESTINY,..

or the CAT, had just tinkled his i-phone…

or the Samurai equiv. thereof.

 

Slightly off-path the CAT WAVED him on…

urging him to weather this weather,..

only from the inside this time.

 

 

This CAT was leading him,..

TO SANCTUARY… it seemed.

 

A GUARDIAN PET KAMI OF JAPAN,..

IN DEED… indeed.

As the WARRIOR slid to a stop and turned;

under cover at least now,.. the LIGHTNING BOLT

STRUCK.

 

Where,..

he originally was and had been.

 

Till a quick-witted… CAT,.. HAD WAVED

HIM SAFELY INSIDE.

 

LEGEND IN DEED and in fact.

 

 

A powerfully raw smell of NATURE filled the WARRIOR’s

breath, replacing the oxygen therein. The immense

sizzling and sonic sound still echoing,.. 

was all he could hear.

 

Grimacing briefly as he dwelled a lil’

on the thought of the rather dishonorable

and dastardly death event that he had

missed by a CAT’s whisker…

 

cos he had noted indeed…
