TWO FRIENDS…

 

The wait and night advances…

 

drawn to the cool of morning,…

lil anxious now as the night dark too fades.

 

…on edge- rush of footsteps all along the hall…

 

breathe held- as nearer they come.

 

 

…muted click of a door

-a pause…steps…then more…

 

creaks, squeaks and groans from the wood stairs-

…a first glimpse of shoe, then leg…

 

-soon eyes wide…both pairs.

searching too…then lock-as a

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

…smile on each slowly forms-

…drawn into the cool of morning,..
