At some stage in the Battle of the Planetary Gods-the FORCES involved could not be neutralised. KINGU the Moon had its FORCE REMOVED and became the somewhat lifeless planetoid kernel we see today.
TIAMAT could not resist ALL of the Force and was ripped to pieces.
The smaller became the Asteroid Belt and the largeish remain became EARTH…
or so the Legends seem to say( in text actually) …
Meanwhile UNICRON the Transformer morphs into A VERY LARGE PLANET KILLING PLANETOID THING AND GOES ON A RAMPAGE…
