After the meishi koukan ( 名刺交換 ) business card swap routine done (click) HISAKO ( 久子 ) quietly informed me… we were early.
Not only that… she had plans for an impromptou tour…

This initiative shown appreciated.
Hisako took the lead… and led the way as well.

Yokohama is a young City though the outlying regions have a long historical use (click).
Began as a sleepy village for the incoming marauding foreign contingents of the time during/after a period of government sanctioned isolationism.

Yokohama slowly transformed from Village to Port as time and incidents went by.
A Earthquake and Tsunami in 1923 led to a major rebuild as did events of WW2 (click).
The Modern Shipping and Railway facilities finalised approx. 1952.
In 1889, constituted with a Population approx.,.. 120,000.
By 1985… some 3 Million called this flourishing Port City Home.

“… human environment surrounded by water, greenery, and history…“.
Shiro’s and Hisako’s Tour certainly… contained that… and more indeed.
LOTS TO SEE… AT THE SEA. THE PORT. YOKOHAMA.
Anyway… the place is HUGE.
FRESH… too.
The Salt and Water freshen AND invigorate the air.
Airy breezes with the smell of NATURE’s wild and fresh Seas.

A GIANT SHIP OF THE SEAS… CONTAINERS THEREIN. GIANTS OF THE LEGENDS… HEREIN.
And then… Hisako stopped… walking that is.
And then… i, Shiro… felt small… indeed,.. in deed and in fact too.

This Port now handles HUGE numbers of Ships and Cargoes (click)… also.
Trade to and from… all over it seems indeed.
Festivals and Commemorations and Development Groups too interact with the Port and Facilities.
Sea and Marine Parks to balance the environ where can.

The BAY at YOKOHAMA is one of those dynamic,.. sweeping around to highlight every nook and cranny of the beach-front.
Certain View-points are unique in that CULTURAL ICONS COME TOGETHER.,.. very well usually.
E.g.,..

Hisako took Shiro’s hand as the crowd ahead funnelled through some winding sections on the various Wharfs, Jetties, Landings and so forth.
The Air… still fresh it seems… too.
Losing my sense of direction i, Shiro… just held on.
Hisako… smoothly operating indeed,.. in deed and in fact… as well.
Somehow keeping her sense of whereness in this HUGE ness…
…ending up with a NINPO Student… alone and one who…
Found myself… musing in a … Museum… on a Ship.!.

Indeed it seems.
I kept a… good grip… too.
Hisako had boarded a gangplank nearby leading upwards.
The view… was indeed worth… musing over.

Yokohama at night is entrancing.
There is also perhaps indeed a sense,.. that the City Planners made a more conscious effort to include the Natural to offset the Structures we impose. The Bay helps disperse much negativity per se. Vibrant colors litter the Landscapes here.
Perhaps Seasonal if a Visitor… keep in mind.

JUST AS AN ASIDE… as i write here… i took a break… 7.35-ish pm Adelaide SOUTH AUSTRALIA… 3 PLANES OVERHEAD… LAYING HUGE CHEMTRAILS…(click)… one after the other… TIS SO… i was under the apple tree and saw dems… 3… in the skies above. The Trails eventually intersected a lil’ angled and skewed off etc.
