Our World LEGENDS of yore are oft instructive,

carrying a message from Ancestors.

the cool, moist, dew and fog.

Had just melted and washed away, into the soils,..

 

of Ancient Japan… by the new morn, Sun’s warm rays (click).

 

 

In the o so rolling, green Mount regions,..

Japan of yore… 1581.

 

 

 

 

 

 

…some SHINOBI gathered.

THE 3000.

…that gathered this cool morn, did so,

knowing clearly and brightly too,..

the Enemy, (click)

they today,.. countenanced and counterfaced…

 

was out for revenge.

 

Added up and,..

ALL faced… as well.

 

the SOLDIERS OF SAMURAI.

On that day, in and on the Japan mounts of IGA long ago,..

…1581 actually,

3000+ SHINOBI Heroes gathered to live, breathe and die.

 

Nearby,..

in the rolling green fields of Japan of yore, near this same mount…

40,000+ SOLDIERS OF SAMURAI were also summoned to meet…

and… live, breathe and die… too.

 

 

 

( Please note: the chronicles, excerpts and journals recording this LEGENDARY BATTLE series… vary in detail concerning overall Troop numbers etc… esp. over it’s course and day and various martial battle actions etc… For example; Both THE 40000 SAMURAI and THE 3000 NINJA had another approx. 5k spread out over the Landscape, Castles and Camps close-by, supply personnel and support troops etc. DAIMYO Oda Nobunaga also had his personal contingent of guards… + associated Weaponry… possibly another 2k there etc… Whichever is used… the SHINOBI OF IGA +co… THE 3000… were vastly outnumbered… at times,.. over 10:1…)

 

 

 

 

The pair of Samurai Guardsmen at the entrance-way shifted uneasily as the Daimyo walked their way… the previous meeting obviously…

over and done.

 

Unsure whether a grimace or smile was attached…

they waited… uneasily still it seems.

The Commander’s persistent foul moods had become almost Legendary over the years.

 

Even more so of late,..

especially since that disaster with his son last year too.

Though there had been no official WAR CALL…

they all knew why the quarry here.

 

Revenge, pure and simple.

THE 3000 IGA SHINOBI.

As Oda crossed the entrance threshold without even a glance

… the Guards… reset their stance and relaxed, somewhat still uneasy.

 

The WAR Council had been early and busy, though practice assured familiarity.

The Guards…

knew what was next.

 

 

Oda quickly gathered his thoughts on the plans made and the tactics to be applied. As he began to talk to,.. and up the troops morale and so forth… he couldn’t help but think to himself,… that though he;

commanded one of the biggest Armies seen at the time and period…

had conquered many provinces, Castles and peoples… yet still…

 

not a single one of THE 3000 NINJA would even…

listen to him it seems indeed.

 

 

Oda had pressured and cajoled his Army Leaders and many diplomatic corps too.

His march here and a victory, would help him claw back, possibly gain some power. Tracking and chasing these shadows of men had become all too personal. If he could just rid his newly conquered Lands of their persistent individualism,..

and collective associated contrary ways.

 

His power-base required consolidation, he demanded revenge…

and now… his ARMY…

 

could achieve both, whilst he then,..

could concentrate on the non-niceties of Diplomatic activity and promotion.

 

 

Oda turned towards the rising SUN grinning inanely, wildly,

with the release of a year’s tensions, emotions and…

power-lust.

 

This,.. as his shadow swept back and cast long.

Over the o so green and rolling plains,..

 

of the IGA MOUNTS…in that year of…

SHINOBI…

… living dangerously (click)

… 1581.

 

He gave the Signal.

 

WAR.

 

 

HIS TIME FOR WAR.

THE 40,000 SAMURAI WENT TO WAR.

 

THE 3000… SHINOBI OF IGA,..

TRIED TO … SURVIVE.

 

 

THE 3000 too, watched OUR SUN Rising,

the IGA mounts of Japan alight…

 

and the o so rolling greens…

darken.

 

The rolling dark of the SAMURAI SOLDIERS shadows that is.

 

 

 

Though rushed,.. the SHINOBI contingent Plans were somewhat underway.

Decided and agreed earlier,.. by ALL CLAN LEADERS.

 

 

 

At least 1/4of each CLAN/RYU were already being evacuated,

even as THE 3000 gathered,..

under this 1581,..IGA Mount… Rising Sun.

 

For,.. what in their day, lay only a lil’ way ahead.

 

The very young, sickly and infirm, upcoming parents, recent couples, elders too and sundry personnel for the routes in the back-trails of the mounts that would lead them on to safety…and away from-

…from D. ODA and THE 40,000.

 

 

The rest,.. were already with them

…or on their way.

 

Each and All of the CLANS…

would survive some it seems in deed,..

 

…indeed… and in fact too.

 

 

 

 

The 3000… SHINOBI ALL, now turned in the morning light;

to face,.. not the Sun… but those

40,000 SAMURAI SOLDIERS.

 

To face,..

Survival,.. against… such odds.

 

 

Records of the period (click) indicate Battles were brutal with little of glory inherent.

Solid bloodthirsty affairs… that achieved little also (click).

 

Oda and son’s SAMURAI Campaign death toll,

in ATTEMPTING to clear IGA of SHINOBI NINJA, THE 3000 and etc…

is not officially acknowledged though one authoritative source:

…of 1879… THE IRANKI (records of the IGA WARS), notes:

“ … losses numbered in the thousands…”

 

Combat was desperate and deadly.

Many, on both sides,… felt and fell under the impact of WAR.

 

The SAMURAI were efficient Soldiers;

well skilled with a range of Weaponry Forms.

Spear, Sword, Bow+Arrow, Staff and others.

So too… THE 3000.

 

The Arts of War Styles.

Such… and still now… mainly indulged in by men.

Herein… THE 40,000 of D.Oda.

 

Rarely were such battles… decisive as such,

…usually only aiding the Politics of things…

…and/or personal ambitions of the Commander.

Herein… is no exception.

 

THE 3000,.. did what they did, and could… to survive.

 

 

As day’s end began,.. some 2000 NINPO LEGENDS of these…

had all… given their all,..

 

every breath.

 

This is THEIR LEGEND.

Somewhat LEGENDARY figures of Our World Legends of yore, they are both mystery and magnificence.

So anyway,.. did Shiro think… at age 6.

 

Now too, still,..

do i think that… at age 54.

I have a Dream.?. since age 6.

 

I Dream of Ninja… ever since,.. it seems indeed.

 

At Battle’s day end… DAIMYO ODA NOBUNAGA and

THE 40,000 SOLDIERS OF SAMURAI,..

may well have thought their job was done.

 

After all and eventually,

they probably;

after taking huge losses,

 

by their sheer numbers had reduced THE SHINOBI 3000

by some 2/3rds.

 

…2 out of 3 enemy ain’t bad…

some Samurai Commanders and Soldiers may say.

 

 

The SHINOBI of THE 3000…simply;

Nods,

smiles in brief grief,..

and says, as with Shiro,..

 

1 out of 3… simply,.. SURVIVED.
