There have been many who promote NINPO… in whatever WAYs they can. ANTHONY NETZLER is indeed one such legend. When the Japanese Media of 1990 discovered Foreigners studying one of their LEGENDARY Martial Arts… on TV this had to go. So, Go,.. Sayeth too HATSUMI SOKE… then… BASICALLY THREW ANTHONY AND Several other Students who had agreed to act as opponent/victims… into the hands… camera and studio of the said eager Film Crew. Screened only once in Japan as far can tell… then Archived. Fortunately… twas still in the Archives and Anthony has shared a copy and the memory thereof… whilst Shiro… shares his memory… as a fall-guy that fateful day on Japanese TV.

The day had come.
Soke had agreed… several class-mates… too.
ANTHONY C. NETZLER… Was to STAR… on Japanese Variety TV.
To promote NINPO and so forth.
Tall, young, handsome, fit and keen…
what could go wrong.?.
LIGHTS… CAMERA… AND… ACTION… … … … …AND…CUT… … AND AGAIN… …
The above final/action edit lasts only some 5 mins.
Took a good half a day to film.
Food and Drink covered thankfully…
(…we drank lots… non-alco of course… mostly
water actually…).
Half a day to film…
…Personally,.. i, Shiro… blame… the media.
They wanted our faces in the shots.
Yep, imagine that.

Turn this way… then fall here… crash down,..
arms spread and away, fall large and big… spread out…
here… so camera gets HERO… ok ok… and look …
natural… but you… you die… here this spot.
WTFrick.?. NATURAL.?. FALL… Splayed out like i was
star-jumping.?. and THEN act dead…

As far as is known they have NEVER been publicly displayed
prior nor online…
…and were uploaded recently by Shiro via his Personal Files
and Library Archives.
Unfortunately… several were very faded and edge worn…
due to a later unfortunate and unforeseen unhappy incident
with undry moisture and unfed termites…
which soon enough… fed themselves… which occurred under
a box during storage under ground… a basement…
…in Adelaide whilst Shiro + co.,..
were in Japan training under the Bujinkan.
Unhaps mishaps indeed…
cept’ for the Termites… who got fed.
…AN EXAMPLE OF BOOK DAMAGE BY TERMITES/WHITE ANTS ETC… THIS ONE IS A JOURNAL AT THE UNI. OF HAWAII.
Till a whilst later… then got dosed.
Damage included over a dozen Books…
mainly Martial Arts related and/or Asia/Japan centred,
several Personal NINPO Journals, a small number
of Callig. Prints and Artwork by Soke and others…
and the Photo Albums of the 1984-1996 Bujinkan
Training period of i, Shiro + co.,.. Damaged…
ALL to varying degrees…
…INTERESTINGLY PERHAPS.?.
The worst affected… or best eaten…
…was ROSS HEAVEN’s ” The Spiritual Practices of the… ” (click).
…THE UNFED TERMITES SEEMED TO ENJOY Shiro’s COPY OF THIS TREASURE… TILL DOSED METHINKS INDEED.
NOT HAPS INDEED THEREIN.!.
The Dell Laptop Shiro used to transfer had a Windows
Photo Editor… which i put the pics through
the CLARITY FILTER… AND those that were a lil’dark…
i added some light (…laptop crashed couple of times too.?.
UGH indeed…
trying to maintain Internet connection for long periods…
a lil’ tricky in my area..)
At the time our Cameras were cheap n nasty- great
only for snappy tourist type pics. We later did swaps
on several. Craig’s Camera has the date. Others undated
are by Shiro’s. Neither of us are/were Photographers
and the intention was for our personal memories
and so forth. When we were not actively rehearsing
or needed… we just circulated and snapped away…
